A Letter from Our President:
Welcome to our website!
Our Panhellenic community is home to seven active chapters - Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Phi Mu, Sigma Delta Tau, and Sigma Kappa. Each of our organizations embodies their own individual values as well as a shared set of Panhellenic values that serve to empower and unite our community. Members of the Panhellenic Community excel within their chapters, in their academic and professional lives, and in other organizations on campus.
When I first arrived at American University, joining a Greek Life organization was the last thing that crossed my mind. However, as my first year came to an end, I was still struggling to find a place on campus and find where I belonged. So, at the start of my sophomore year, I decided to go through sorority recruitment, and by the end of the semester, I had found my community. During recruitment, I immediately bonded with my new member class and the members I met at events. In fact, the first girl that I met at Bid Day went on to become one of my best friends, my Big, and my current roommate. I loved how committed my chapter was to its values, pushing each other to better themselves and to embraces themselves and the things they love. Never before had I felt so supported to be who I am. As cheesy as it may sounds, but joining the Panhellenic Community gave me the home away from home that I had been craving.
The Panhellenic community is unique because, rather than be brought together by our interests, we are bound by our values. Each of our organizations brings together people who would have never crossed paths otherwise. Our members empower each other to achieve in every avenue of our lives, be our best selves, and reach our fullest potential. We hope to serve as a resource for the AU Community as well as current and future members.
Feel free to reach out to us and we look forward to meeting everyone when we return to campus!
