A Letter from our President!

Welcome to our website!

Our Panhellenic community is home to seven active chapters - Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Epsilon Phi, Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Phi Mu, Sigma Delta Tau, and Sigma Kappa. Each of our organizations embodies their own individual values as well as a shared set of Panhellenic values that serve to empower and unite our community. Members of the Panhellenic Community excel within their chapters, in their academic and professional lives, and in other organizations on campus.

When I first arrived at American University, joining a Greek Life organization was the last thing that crossed my mind. I never saw myself as a sorority girl and didn't think that I would fit in. However, Spring of my Freshman year, I decided just to go through recruitment anyways. During recruitment I met some amazing people that made me feel immediately at home. From the second I joined my organization I made friends that have lasted me throughout all of college. My best friends, my roommates, the people I go to when I need a hug or when I need a laugh. No matter how busy or overwhelmed I am, I always have those girls I met 3 years ago to get me through life. I love how my chapter is so committed to its values and the relationships that form, pushing every member to be their best and follow their passions. I truly could not be more grateful to be part of an organization free of judgment who lets me be exactly who I want to be.

The Panhellenic community is unique because, rather than be brought together by our interests, we are bound by our values. Each of our organizations brings together people who would have never crossed paths otherwise. Our members empower each other to achieve in every avenue of our lives, be our best selves, and reach our fullest potential. We hope to serve as a resource for the AU Community as well as current and future members.

Feel free to reach out to us and we look forward to meeting everyone when we return to campus!

Thank you,

Becky Harris
